2) Check the Hastings County GIS

  • North Hastings – Scenic Routes – Interactive mapping allows users to explore the 13 scenic driving routes found in North Hastings.
  • Hastings County Arts Route – The Arts Route directs you to artisans, galleries and theatres across Hastings County. The Arts Route creates a trail of discovery for painters, potters, jewelry makers, photographers, performing arts, and other creative people.
  • Conservation Authority Boundaries – Map highlighting the boundaries of Conservation Authorities within the County of Hastings.
  • EarlyON Child and Family Centre Programs in Hastings County – EarlyON Child & Family Centre Program locations in Hastings County.
  • Healthy Kids – An interactive map showing locations for kid-friendly fun and activities in Hastings County.

6) Speak to the Hastings County Planning Department

Fill out this pre-consultation intake form to provide the county planners with details about your project. Go to their website.

7) Apply for a Safe Entrance Permit

A building permit cannot be issued until there is a safe entrance for the property.

8) Apply for Building Permits

A building permit is your formal permission to begin construction or demolition. It means that the Municipality of Marmora and Lake has reviewed the plans for any new structure, addition or renovation. Plans must comply with the Ontario Building Code, local zoning by-laws and other applicable laws and regulations.
