Canada Day Mayor’s Message
On this special Canada Day, I am honored as your Mayor to celebrate this incredible nation that we call home. Today, as we commemorate the birth of our great country, we are reminded of the values that unite us as Canadians and residents - diversity, inclusivity, and resilience. On this Canada Day, let us reflect on the sacrifices and contributions of those who have come before us, shaping the Canada we know and love today.
Our history is rich with stories of perseverance, courage, and compassion, and it is up to us to carry on this legacy with pride and gratitude. Our municipality is working hard to ensure progress and development in our great community. So far this year we are seeing new homes, upgraded roads and upgrades to our parks and recreation facilities and services. We are supporting health and wellbeing with the recruitment of
a new physician and the groundbreaking on our much awaited Long-Term care home. We see progress with new businesses, new events, new ideas and new faces in this beautiful community.
As we celebrate Canada Day, let us also reaffirm our commitment to building a brighter future for generations to come. Let us continue to uphold the principles of equality, justice, and freedom, and let us work together to continue to create a more inclusive and sustainable society for all.
Today, as we raise our flags high and sing our national anthem let us remember that Canada is not just a place on a map, but a feeling of belonging, of unity, and of hope. Let us embrace the diversity that makes us strong and the values that bind us together as one nation and one people. As we mark this Canada Day with joy and gratitude, let us carry the spirit of unity and resilience with us every day, in everything we do.
On behalf of Council and Staff I want to wish you all a very HAPPY CANADA DAY.
