Position Purpose:

Reporting to the Director of Public Works, the Road Supervisor is responsible to organizing, implementing, and supervising work activities according to established service levels, procedures, and priorities. Supervises Public Works staff and contractors. Coordinates the use of equipment and contractual work to ensure that all work is carried out in an effective and efficient manner.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Possess and maintain minimum a valid Class “D” Province of Ontario Driver’s License with a “Z” endorsement
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player and coach with an ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees and the general public and to provide information to the public in order to ensure polite, tactful relations
  • Possesses at least a CRS-I (Certified Road Supervisor-Intermediate) designation, preferred
  • Post Secondary education in the form of a community college diploma (2 or 3 years) focused on Engineering (e.g. C.E.T.), design, effective management in a Public Works environment or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred
  • Proficient computer skills in all relevant technologies within a Public Works Department, including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Supervisory experience would be considered an asset, specifically relating to road construction and maintenance, drainage, and scheduling of daily activities

The Municipality of Centre Hastings is looking to fill (1) position for Aquatics Instructors/Lifeguards. The employee will be providing swimming instructions, guarding during public swims and other assigned duties.
