Dress To Impress! Summer Student Interviews Commence This Week!

The Municipality of Centre Hastings is gearing up for Summer Employment Interviews during the week of March 10th, 2025. Those chosen for interviews received an email last week. We appreciate everyone who submitted their applications; the competition was incredibly fierce!

To help you prepare for your upcoming interview, here are some helpful tips below:

Preparation Tips:

• Research the organization/program: Understand their values, mission, and what they offer.
• Know the role/position requirements: Be clear about what is expected and how your skills match.
• Prepare your resume: Make sure it’s updated and tailored to the role/program.
• Practice common interview questions: Rehearse answers to questions like "Tell me about yourself" and "Why should we hire you?"
• Prepare questions for the interviewer: Ask thoughtful, relevant questions about the role, school, or program.
• Prepare examples: Have specific examples of your strengths, achievements, and experiences.

During the Interview:

• Dress professionally: Choose an outfit that suits the interview but remains polished.
• Arrive early: Arrive 10 minutes before the interview starts.
• Be positive and enthusiastic: Show interest in the role, school, or program.
• Make a good first impression: Greet the interviewer with a firm handshake and smile.
• Answer questions clearly and concisely: Stay on topic and use examples when possible.
• Show self-awareness: Highlight your strengths and acknowledge areas for growth.
