Highway 62 Road Resurfacing Project Begins

Starting the week of May 12, 2025, rehabilitation work will begin on Highway 62
The Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) Eastern Region is undertaking the detail design for mainline pavement rehabilitation of Highway 62 from Ivanhoe to Madoc through the Townships of Huntingdon and Municipality of Centre Hastings.
A key map showing the location of the study area is attached.
The proposed work for this project includes rehabilitation of main line lanes, replacement of existing guide rail, and newly paved shoulders of Highway 62 from Ivanhoe to Madoc within MTO right of way. All work will be restricted to the highway platform and accesses to the roadway will be maintained throughout the project. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2025 and is subject to provincial funding, and approvals. There are no anticipated full closures of Highway 62 associated with the proposed improvements,
however, motorists can expect temporary traffic delays due to Highway 62 lane
reductions.
Any comments, questions, or to request additional information about the proposed
Highway 62 project can be directed to the undersigned MTO Project Manager.
