Family Medicine Resident Coming to Madoc
Warden Bob Mullin, during a recent meeting of Hastings County, made an exciting announcement that Dr. Corli Barnes has officially joined the Family Physician Recruitment Program. This program aims to address the growing need for family medicine services in the County and ensure that residents have access to quality healthcare.
Dr.Corli Barnes is in the final stages of her second year of Residency in the Family Medicine Program at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine. Dr.Corli Barnes obtained her medical degree from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, her hometown. Dr. Barnes will soon be joining the Central Hastings Family Health Team and will be providing her medical services at the clinic located in Madoc.
Mayor Deline said, “This announcement marks a positive step forward in addressing the healthcare needs of the community and ensuring that everyone has access to the care they deserve.
Dr. Barnes stated, “I’m very much looking forward to moving to the area, getting to know the community and working at the Tri Area Medical Centre. I'm honored to be joining this group of truly excellent physicians who have created an outstanding work environment with values that I share. I look forward to providing care to my own roster of patients, offering women's health services, and working toward addressing the many gaps in care that currently exist in Ontario. Specifically, I'd like to thank the community for their recruitment package and Dr. Adam Stewart for being an innovative force in family medicine, which together has made this possible."
