Quinte Waste Solutions 2024 Fall Curbside Battery Collection Dates & Important Information

This is a reminder about the upcoming Fall 2024 Curbside Battery Collection, which will take place during the weeks of November 4-8 and November 11-15, 2024.

Residents are asked to place their household-sized batteries in a resealable bag on top of their fibers (paper) blue box. The collection will happen only during these designated weeks, and residents with bi-weekly collection will only have one day for pickup. Please note the following:

Key Points:
• Larger batteries are not accepted in this curbside program.
• Do not include light bulbs or electronics.
• Residents must tape the terminals and ends of all lithium, button cell, and rechargeable batteries to prevent potential fire hazards.

Outside of these collection dates, residents can bring their batteries and other hazardous waste to the Household Hazardous & Electronic Waste (HEW) Depot in Belleville.


Accepted Batteries for Curbside Collection:
• Alkaline batteries (AA, AAA, C, D, 9V)
• Zinc-carbon batteries
• Lithium single-use batteries
• Nickel-Cadmium (Ni-Cd) batteries
• Nickel-Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) batteries
• Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday: 9 AM – 4 PM
