Canada Day 2026

Canada Day is a nationwide celebration and a long-standing tradition in Centre Hastings. Each year, the Municipality of Centre Hastings hosts one of the largest events of the year within the village of Madoc. The main event for Canada Day is hosted at Centre Hastings Park (24 Seymour Street, Madoc). but also throughout Centre Hastings.

Canada Day is supported by its residents, community members, service groups, and volunteers, making this one of the year's biggest celebrations! Canada Day has a variety of events that takes place throughout the day and evening! A wide variety of kid's games, live entertainment with face painting and balloon artists, live music, and end finally with fireworks on Moira Lake.

Our events program has been designed to safely connect us as friends, neighbors, and Canadians this July.

Secure Your Spot: Premium Canada Day Activities to Book Ahead

Local artists and creators are invited to take part in the Canada Day festivities at Centre Hastings Park on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 for a community Art Show and Live Artist Showcase. This free event proudly showcases local and Canadian culture while celebrating creativity in all its forms.

We are seeking artists working in painting, drawing, photography, woodworking, mixed media, and handmade crafts, along with other creative mediums. Each artist will have space to display approximately 3–4 pieces of work, with the option to remain with their display to sell artwork or leave contact information for potential buyers.

We are also especially interested in artists who would like to provide live demonstrations throughout the day, including live painting or sketching, woodworking or carving, photography showcases, and other interactive creative experiences for the public.

This showcase is open to all ages and skill levels and is designed to proudly celebrate and highlight local talent and Canadian culture as part of Centre Hastings’ Canada Day festivities. Spots are limited, so early registration is encouraged.

Canada Day Itinerary for 2026

Canada Day is about coming together as a community, and we’re excited to offer a variety of interactive experiences throughout the day for all ages to enjoy!

There is no better way to celebrate Canada’s birthday than with high-energy Rock & Roll! Mad Hatter is ready to liven up your holiday festivities and keep you moving long into the night.

Don't miss Mad Hatter tearing up the stage at the Madoc Arts Centre on Canada Day! The rock starts at 6:00 PM and runs until 9:00 PM at Centre Hastings Park (24 Seymour Street W, Madoc, ON).

With 100 years of combined experience, the band delivers a massive sound covering 6 decades of absolute classics. You can expect rich vocal harmonies, top-notch bass and drum work, and blistering guitar solos that make every single show a night to remember.

Looking for the perfect wrap up your Canada Day celebrations with a spectacular evening by the water. Gather your family, friends, and neighbours at the Moira Lake Boat Launch off Highway 62 in Madoc, Ontario, for an unforgettable night of fireworks and community fun.

Key Details

Timing: Fireworks will begin at dusk.
Vantage Point: The boat launch offers the clearest, unobstructed views of the performance.
Design: Fireworks launch from the opposite shore, illuminating over the lake while maintaining a safe distance from spectators.

In case of inclement weather, fireworks will be rescheduled for Saturday, July 4th, 2026.

Heading to Moira Lake for the big fireworks show? Leave the car behind! Thanks to the amazing team at Switzer-CARTY Transportation, the Switzer-Carty Shuttle is providing FREE rides so you have the opportunity to attend stress-free.

Shuttle Details:

Pick-Up Location: Centre Hastings Park (24 Seymour Street, Madoc).
Departure Times: 8:30 PM and 8:50 PM (Heading to Moira Lake Boat Launch).
Return Trip: The Switzer Shuttle will bring you right back to the park immediately following the fireworks.

Important Info:

Where to Park: Park your vehicle at the designated Centre Hastings Park downtown parking lots before boarding.
Sign-In Required: All passengers must sign in before boarding the bus.
Wear Your Red: Don't forget to pack your lawn chairs and wear your Canada Day red.
